Around December 2022, Natalie and I decided to embark on an extraordinary adventure and tie the knot after 7 years together. With an already planned holiday to Iceland in May 2023, we thought, "Why not have our dream wedding there?" Thus began a whirlwind 4 months of preparation, not only to ensure all the necessary paperwork was in check but also to mark the moment with a memorable engagement!
Our special day unfolded like a fairy tale. It started with the excitement of getting ready at the hotel, followed by a breathtaking 2-hour drive through the Icelandic countryside to reach the picturesque Búðakirkja, where our intimate ceremony took place, witnessed by only two of our closest friends. Afterward, we stopped by a nearby waterfall for a few enchanting photos, capturing the essence of our love against the stunning Icelandic backdrop. The journey continued with a scenic 2-hour drive back to Reykjavik, where we were warmly welcomed by a reservation at the delightful Flatey Pizza.
The joyous celebrations continued into the next day, with a classic Iceland tourist experience lined up - glacier and waterfall viewings! But before we embarked on these incredible adventures, we made sure to start the day right with a visit to the world-famous Blue Lagoon, adding an extra touch of magic to our Icelandic wedding tale.
